Employee
Satisfaction
Employee satisfaction is one of key items
we measure in our annual employee opinion
poll. Over the past few years overall satisfaction
with working at SSEC has ranged from 80% to
93%. This is among the highest percentage
of any external comparison we've been able
to find! |

Work
and Family
SSEC supports innovative and flexible work
arrangements. It's one way we recognize diversity
of needs and provide employees with tools
to help balance their challenges at work and
at home. We have established many alternative
work arrangements to make it easier for employees
to juggle work and other responsibilities.
These include flextime, compressed work weeks,
work at home, part-time work and job sharing.

Teamwork
Teamwork is a key element of our culture at
SSEC. Most of our jobs involve interaction
with other members of the work group and often
involve participation on cross-functional
teams. |

Communication
Ongoing communication keeps our employees
up-to-date about information they need to
know. Several communication vehicles inform
our employees about what's going on at SSEC.
For example, all employees receive a newsletter
outlining various key business measurements,
customer comments, program status, business
plans, and employee news. In addition, all
employees receive a monthly voice-mail/e-mail
message from the Director of Human Resources
on important current topics. Regular communications,
along with employee feedback, help ensure
effective, two-way communication across functional
areas. |

Employee
Environment Council
The Employee Environment Council (EEC) is
a cross-functional, multi-job family group
of employees who meet monthly to provide feedback
and recommendations to the SSEC management
on ways to improve the work environment. The
EEC also facilitates the analysis of data
from our employee opinion survey and develops
recommendations for responding the survey
concerns. Each year, one-third of the membership
rotates off the Council in order to bring
in new members with fresh ideas and to provide
the EEC experience for a broad representation
of employees. |

Employee
Resource Groups
There are a number of employee resource groups
at Honeywell that provide education and an
increased understanding of our diversity.
These groups address the diverse interests
of employees and give feedback to management
on how Honeywell can improve its business
climate through an increased appreciation
of diversity in our employees and in our customers.

Community
Partners Program
One of our key business drivers is to be a
leader in community citizenship. We do this
through our Community Partners Program. Here,
SSEC actively encourages personal participation
in the Minneapolis United Way drive, FoodShare,
E-mail mentoring, Adopt-a-Park, Habitat for
Humanity, and the Adopt-a-Family program.
SSEC recognizes employee's volunteer efforts
thorough the community volunteer of the month
program and the community citizenship award.

in our communities and we are truly a Community

Employee Club
The Honeywell Employee Club is a separately
chartered, not-for-profit organization run
for and by employees. Members receive a comprehensive
discount list and can buy discount tickets
to movie theaters, family entertainment events,
sporting events, vacation packages, leisure
clothing, home controls, and more. Members
also receive reduced rates for intramural
sports, special interest clubs, and "members
only" family events. |
