New Explosion-Proof Precision Pressure Transducer
Convenient for RS232 and RS485 Digital Interfaces
|

MINNEAPOLIS,
Minnesota, SEPTEMBER 15, 2000 - Honeywell
today introduces the PPTE, which is an explosion-proofprecision
pressure transducer convenient for RS232 and
RS485 digital interfaces. The PPTE communicates
through readily av ailable
terminal emulation software with user-configurable
update rates and baud rates as fast as 120
updates/sec and 28.8k, respectively. The PPTE
is approved for Factory Mutual (FM) and Canadian
Standards Association (CSA) explosion-proofapplications
that meet Class I, Groups B,C,D; Class II,
Groups E,F,G; and Class III. Typical applications
for the PPTE include process control; chemical
refineries; oil andgas; and paper and pulp
industries. The PPTE accuracy is ±
0.10% FS specified over the entire temperature
range of -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F).
The PPTE is available for gauge and absolute
pressure measurements with full scale ranges
from 10 to 3000 psi. |
| |
| Designed
with a hermetically sealed, stainless steel
construction, the PPTE operates in severe
vibration, thermal and mechanical shock environments.
To handle harsh gases and liquids, the PPTE
utilizes a stainless steel isolation diaphragm
with an option of Hastelloy. The PPTE software
has many user-selectable features such as
baud rate/parity settings, continuous broadcast,
ASCII or binary output, temperature output,
deadband/sensitivity, update rates, pressure
units, and many other features that support
a wide range of applications. Every unit comes
with 0-5V analog output for use in existing
systems. |
| |
| The
PPTE product is based on proven silicon sensor
technology combined with microprocessor-based
signal conditioning to provide an extremely
smart pressure transducer. The PPTE is manufactured
at the Solid State Electronics Center located
in Plymouth, Minnesota. |
